Windows 7, the latest addition to the Microsoft operating system family, shows some significant differences to its earlier counterparts. I immediately noticed that the Network and Sharing Center in Windows Seven, although it still existed, contained both new and changed links. These changes were minor changes, but did warrant some extra exploring.
One of the first things I searched for was my computer IP address and the main details of my internet connection. It clearly has no View status link in the Network and Sharing Center as in the previous version in Windows Vista. Instead the view status link has become a link to the actual connection that your computer has.
For example if you have a Local area connection, that will be the link to press on.
Quick steps to see your computer IP address on Windows Seven:
- Click on the Network icon in the notification area.
- A box will appear, choose the Network and Sharing Center.
- In the Network and Sharing Center click on your connection. For example: Local Area Connection.
- Then click on the Details button.
- Your connection details will be there, including your computer Ip address.
